My purposal for our planning group is developing a stragetic plan for a Preservation Advocacy in East Cleveland. Uniting with exisiting governmental offices, at the local level per say the building and housing at  dept, at the state level perhaps OHS, at the federal NTHP, in order to make a tangile plan of action that would act as the motor for a larger unit. Volunteer efforts would make up the whole of the task force, and we would seek out tradespeople willing to provide services at no or little cost. Funding would be sought after. Projets aimed to revitlize the city and bring a stronger tax base-- business. I feel this program is feasible, because the market trend toward urban living. As the city fills with high-price projects, and housing cost gets steep while wages do not increase, a lower cost of  housing in necessary for working class and young professionals to survice. East Cleveland could serve the purpose of this market. Young people are interested in owning homes, and housing stock in the City would be marketable to people if more programming exisited to help them realize their dreams. Also current residents would benefit from this, as their properties could gain value, and overall city strive as well.
